Provenance: Private Collection

Brill was an outstanding draftsman and especially gifted at working in black and white.  This is a study for the painting in the collection of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.  The finished oil is  91.5 x 122 cm.  The mayor is believed to be  George Knowlden.
